Two more people have been arrested in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport where 21 people sustained injuries by a substance believed to be pepper spray, as stated by police.
A 24-year-old man, was arrested in the Lambeth area on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.
These detentions come after a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.
A toddler aged three was one of the injured during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been released.
Officers arrested a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.
Authorities were alerted at about 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of individuals hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.
The attack - an event that police said was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - caused train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
